This recipe for a homemade dark chocolate is great for topping deserts. It is something in between an icing and a syrup and it doesn’t set completely – a feature I love! The best thing about it is that it uses only 3 ingredients (not counting the water) and it takes about 2-3 minutes to prepare.
Enjoy it with my favourite homemade, egg and dairy-free Single Layer Chocolate Cake.
Homemade Dark Chocolate Dessert Topping
- 70 g high quality butter
- 2 tbsp water
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- Start by gently melting the butter in a small pan, over a low heat. Do not allow it to boil.
- Add the remaining ingredients, while gently stirring. Once combined, begin to stir vigorously, until the mixture begins to thicken (around 1-2 minutes).
- Pour over your favourite desert to make it irresistibly chocolatey.
